I was once in your shoes

How to learn a subject always a big question for me at my university. I

Remember the first semester with a lot of Cs,Ds even Fs which is the worst terrible moment in my life. I who are a great student with the highest grade in high school suddently confused with myself. Follow some advice of the previous bad studend that we must not to do anthing else until the last night before exams. In this night we will study with high pressure and all the knowledge of semesters will easily put into our head. Another advice is going to the crash memorization coures which are sumerize and give students all they need to know before exams and booms one night to remember all of them. They give me a beatiful future about the powerful material which absolutely help me to achive any grade I want.

I don’t do anything else, go to the club and a mount of party with new friends I have met in my university.

And the dream comes true, I very glad to recive my grade in the board. My teacher so pround of me because I got the top 10 grade of my class.

It’s not true never never and never happened

  • WHY DON’T ALL STUDENTS ALREADY KNOW HOW TO LEARN?

Why teach in Highschool always need a review before the final test and told to their children that this class is vitally important nobody would not allow to cancel this class.

  • They do not need to put more effort in order to make As and Bs in Highschool
  • They believe that they could not smart in any way because most their score always be the top 10 of their class.

Your limitation in ability is your limitation in your imagination.

Fixed Mindset while learning at Highschool. they oversmart so dont need to put any change or effort to become master in university

First of all, you should be awear of the fault comes from you and only you. Awearness is not to blame yourself but it is the first step to improve yourself. Be awear of your weakness.

The Goal

It comes to the goal which is often misconceptable in the start of the learn stategie. We set a goal too far we can not did it. We set a easy goal we do not have enough motivate to finish this goal.

The goal of test is assess your ability to applyzing to a new problem we could meet in the real life or different cases.

The goal is misunderstanding is test your rememberizing ability.

I actual think that learn is remember all things we read in books before I read this book. Sometimes, I forget everything after exams and I really surprise by myself when I meet what I’ve study a week ago. I finding a stategie to actual learn everything not just remember them.I think we could find out the best way to learn by our self which is truly learn not just study. We couldn’t to work harder but smarter in this way.

If you want to understanding something you have to remembering this. The concept of this hirachies is to achieve the higher level you have to pass the lower one.

Study Cycle

In the first of semmester, you should preview your subject. Because your brain intentionly fill all the gap of your knowledge better than stay focus on what it doesn’t understand anything

Attend class give you a golden opportunities to asking your professionals, discussing with your friend, follow up your circumstance. Some of information will not appear in the lecture notes

After that, you should review in a 5-10 minutes as soon as possible. Our brains will forget almost information in 30-45 minutes lectures and you should do it before the information leak out through your ears. Reviewing will fill your gaps while listening professor teaching and use active recalling in this period.

ACTIVE READING, STEP 1: Previewing

Your brain intentionly fill gaps of your knowledge when it realize familiar with knowledge better than the first time heard about it.

ACTIVE READING, STEP 2: Previewing on Steroids

Ask questions to keep your movitation in reading materials. Looking for the answer your question will put you forward.

ACTIVE READING STEP 3: Parapharasing the Correct Way

Before learning the next paragraph, reviewing the previous one by fold it and summerize it into 1-3 sentences. By this methods, you will connect paragraph one by one into chunks and catch your line until the end. Save time, effortively and continous

STEP 4: You could use Flash cards, maps, outlines to systematic your knowledge and enhance your memorizing

STEP 5: Use the textbook. The cursed of knowledge. When your professor teaching they will use their already known knowledge about this topic to tell you some of them in lecture but some of them doesn’t. You could find some parts doent apear in the lecture in the textbook.

Use apedix and table of content in the textbook to find a small information and heading of each chater if you want to.

STEP 6: Go to class and choose T zone sheet in the class. The envoriment with your friend will give you more energy and motivation than study alone. Choose a T zone slot will give you oppotuity to face off your teacher and increse your chance ask question, attention of your teacher and take more responsibility in this class.

STEP 7: Learn by doing excersice or homework.

Firstly, You have to do this homework by your own thinking after that check your only the final answer. Do it until it corrects and open the solutions and analyzing this methods with yours. This is called deep learning

STEP 8: Learn as you have to teach someone

While teach someone, your ideas was recreating by your own thinking and of course have something corrupt. Be awear of it and fix it is best ways to make it belong to you.

STEP 9: Work in pair/group

More perpective about one problems give more solutions and creation. Learn from the others

Faculty-Related Obstacles to Student Motivation

The classroom environment is daunting or unsupportive

Faculty expectations are unclear

Students are paralyzed by a sink or swim course structure.

Use syllabus as a road map to guide in a semmester.

Write out all the question of the course and answer it by your own thinking. About time, grade

Go through the syllabus to have big picture of subjects and write all questions. After that answer them with which answer you cant go to school and ask your teacher. Should go to your office more often to receive more information than a normal class.

  • Some kind of strategy addopt for a kind of class, another is not so use different strategies for different “enemy”
